Creative Collage Workshop aturday, July 11, 2009: 1 - 1-3pm Bloyd Hill Center,Rock Hill SC
In this workshop with Alease, you'll explore the full potential of collage and its limitless possibilities. You will learn a combination of painterly collage techniques, which will enhance the surfaces of your collage artworks. You'll have a chance to experiment with various image transfer methods, learn how to use household materials as art supplies, and other skills needed in making creative mixed media collages. Cost: $30.00
Registration Starts - June 5,2009
In the 1st Hour – Basic Techniques
You will be introduced to the basic tools and supplies used to make collage art which will be followed by learning how to create backgrounds by layering paint, peeling paper and peeling paint. Then you will learn how to use these background techniques to tackle the “blank canvas” syndrome. We will then move on to learning how to transfer images to your collage surfaces.
In the 2nd Hour – Putting It all Together
The second half of the workshop is meant to open your eyes to the different ways to create collages. The flexible nature of this workshop will allow each student an opportunity for one-on-one guidance. We will do a series of creative collage exercises that will help you put basic collage techniques into practice.
At the end of the workshop you will have created your own 8x10 mixed media collage.
Supplies to Bring to Workshop:
* 2 - 3 Carbon copies of your favorite images. Not ink jet
images- they will not work well with image transfers.
Materials Supplied by Instructor
* 8x10 canvas
* Collage packet
* paints, brushes,and adhesive
Note: Space is limited, so register for workshop early. If workshop fills, another workshop date will be scheduled. Directions to workshop will be sent once you have paid for workshop.
