If you can’t find a way to focus your efforts, your creative business will not make money. Believe me not until last year did I start seeing a profit from my creative business. When I first started creating art, I just couldn’t focus on what I needed to do to get my business started. I was reading craft business books, after books, reading craft business blog, after blog and what happen was I reached information overload.
I wasn’t able to focus on one thing. I would read one book, take some information from that book, try it, make a few dollars and then start something else. I never could stick with one thing. I was all over the place . I was always searching for something better (sounds like my love life). I was looking for something that didn’t require hardly any work and was going to make me millions overnight. Plain and simple, I was looking for something that didn’t exist.
What I didn’t know was, actually I had all the information I needed for my creative business to be successful. I just wasn’t using it. I wasn’t staying focused on a project long enough to see any returns. Making money with my art business wasn't going to happen overnight . It was going to take work. What I had to do was pick one or two projects and work on them until I completed them both.
Here is my suggestion- choose one project- it could be to create a 12 piece collection, build a website, write a book, or whatever. Then work on it until the entire project is completed. DON’T start anything new. Just complete that one project. Then once that is finished work on the next step- if you keep up this routine the money will start coming in.
I’ve learned the toughest dollar to make is the first one. The first dollar was definitely the toughest for me to make- at times I felt like giving up. But that first sale gave me the confidence to continue. Actually I framed my first dollar- it is sitting on a bookcase in my studio.
Work harder and expand your creative business. Repeat what you’re doing to make money and just keep expanding on that process and keep working on ways to improve your business. Focus and hard work is going to take you a long ways in life, it’s the two major keys to success. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.
Staying Focus ,
Taking Average and Making it Fabulous!

It is true that setting up a goal and focusing on it is the main thing to be done if one wants to earn
good money from his/her business. Working hard is also a must. One should always keep expanding the process and keep working towards the growth and improve the business. All these truly lead to good money making.

Henry, OMG you are right. Working hard is the most important thing. I think a lot of times, people want an easy way to make money.
I been working as an enterpreneur for sometime, and the amount of work I've had to put into is more than I expected. But its been all worth it.
Thanks for your comment.

Make money should take into account other resources. Maybe your child may have a paper route maybe you can offer to clean leaves other people shoveling snow or any other service in your area may require. Doing this gives your child a taste for the job but business can be a mistake in them. Once you have your children managing their own money if it is you or your own resources you must teach your children to put their money to work for them.
