Do you prefer art created on paper and then framed?
Or
Art on museum quality canvas?
Hello Everyone, I am currently in a major fix. I am starting a new series of mixed media collages and I am torn between creating collages on paper and then framing them later or creating the collages on canvas.
Please help - I need your advice.
Peace and More Love- Alease

Dear Alease,
As a watercolorist, I prefer my art framed with regular glass. I think non glare glass kills the colors.
When I paint with acrylics, I prefer canvas. I like to see the texture, not only of the canvas, but the texture of the paint.
I am new to collage ... thanks to finding your newsletter. I would think collage on paper, framed under glass will give your work the greatest protection. However, collage on canvas would enable the viewer to appreciate all the layering, textures, and techniques. I believe it invites the viewer into your work on a more personal basis.
Like all art ... it becomes a personal choice. There is no right or wrong way.
