I ran across this bright, playful and colorful artwork the other day and realized that it was actually created with felt fabric. The artwork is by Jessica Moreno. The work is executed very well. Her use of color and composition seems to be well thought out.
Using felt in your artwork allows for many color and shape options. Jessica uses blue for the little girl's hair, and bright pink for the sky.
What else could you have used that is quick and clean-up free? Felt fabric is a great art medium choice. It works in this art piece, so why not use it in your next project and it is easy on the wallet.
For your felt needs go to OnlineFarbicStore.net What an great way to create unique artwork with a product that most of us have used sometime in our lives.
I am interested in seeing some of your projects using felt fabrics. Post your link in my comment section. Look forward to seeing your felt projects.
Hey Everyone. I just found out about this great site called Pandora. It is a internet radio station, that plays only the music you love - they call it the Music Genome Project. It is absoultly wonderful and I am totally hooked. Take a look at it and see if you like it as much as I do.
Enjoy!!!
So far we have set goals, established a mission, and created a branding identity for our business, but have we decided on a name? So of you have, and some of us have not. Lets just think it about and lets make sure that we are comfortable with the name and that reflects our goals, mission, and brand image.
I too had to reflect on this one- in the past year I have gone by Alease Michelle. I thought it was a good way to introduce myself and create an image around. My last name is so long, it would not had made sense to have an web address that was more than 20 character long, and plus my last name is hard to spell. I thought Alease Michelle would be just fine. At work I am known as Alease and my family calls me Michelle. Great ideal - right?
Not so, This December, An art director introduced me as Alease Michelle. I did not like the sound of it. I felt that I was disowning my last name. So I am back to Alease McClenningham. On my business cards I am going to put Alease - for the branding image, but place my entire name in the address part of the business card.
So when you are planning your business name. make sure you can live with it, but if you can not just change it. It is ok to change your mind.

What am I grateful for this week?
That my sister survived the car crash.
What challenged me this week?
My insecurity
How did or can I overcome that challenge(s)?
To pray - I need it.
What did I savor this week?
Friends and Family
I have been blogging for 3 years. Not until a year ago did I get serious about it. So, when Typepad asked thier users to blog about why they love blogging, I jumped on it.
I love blogging because....
1. I get to share my thoughts about art and my life as an artist.
2. My friends and family can keep up with whats going on in my artist life.
3. It has helped me became more comfortable with writing.
4. I get to meet other bloggers.
5. I get write about anything and chose to share it with others.
6. It keeps me fresh and excited about life.
7. There is a possiblity that I can make money.
8. I learn for other bloggers.
9. I have a site all my own and I can put it on a business card.
10. It is better than writing in my journal.
Street Artist - Shepard Fairey created this image on the right. This image has become well known and has been associated with President Obama's campaign. Now some are saying that this is copyright infringement and that Associated Press owns the right to this image and wants compensation for any money made from the image. Now to me... this image looks totally different than the original. Yes he used the likeness of the picture, but there are some differences. And I ask why now?
I am curious to hear your thoughts on this one. What do you think?

What did I do this week?
This week I had to deal with a sinus infection, that really keep me down. Once I got the medicine, I felt better, but I was still slow to act.
My current challenge- inspired by the movie Fireproof and book A Love Dare. I started a new blog based on these inspiration. I have share this blog with close friends and family and have received some great advice. Along with writing a weekly reflection, this new blog has allowed me to continue my personal development in searching for a soul mate.
I put together a few artist packets- I had to revised my resume to include new exhibits and projects. So this was a good thing.
What did I feel this week?
Sick- insecure - and tried.
What am I grateful for this week?
Grateful this week for friends and family who have your best interest at heart. There are good people in the world and it feels great to know that they are part of my life.
What challenged me this week?
To continue to have faith.
How did or can I overcome that challenge(s)?
I continue to send out my thank you prayers to GOD and to know that anything worth having takes work.
