1. Nominated "Most Mischievous" in High schooll. Really don't know how I was nominated for that- maybe because I was quiet and kept to myself!!!
2. Every dog I have owned- have been poodles. I guess it was my calling to become a Sigma Gamma Rho.
3. If I had been a boy, my mom would have named my Christopher Bernard. Glad she had a girl because I like Alease Michelle a lot better.
4. I am naturally an introvert- but I have taught myself to be more of extrovert when my career calls for it.
5. Favorite movie as a child - "The 10 Commandments". Favorite movie as an adult- 'Love Jones"
6. I hate things turned on an angle. I like everything straight and vertical. Does that mean I might be a little OCD?
7. I am allergic to grapes. Does anyone have any suggestions of any good apple wines? Do they exist?
8. I teach fashion, but rarely look at any fashion related magazines. I just adore the home decorating ones.
9. I collect magnets from every city I visit. I have collection of about 50+. So if you are planning to take a trip- bring me a magnet back.
10. In 8th grade , at least once a week I wore my Michael Jackson Thriller jacket, grey parachute pants and grey soft bottom jazz shoes. So 1980's!!
11. Can say hello in 3 languages - Make it 4... English (a given), Spanish, German and Swahili
12. In college, I interned at the South Carolina State House.
13. Specialized in printmaking in college.
14. Played the role of a drug addict in a community play.
15. Not fond of clowns. There is something about the white face and the painted on smile that scares me. Go Figure!
16. I do not like ice cream, it makes me thirsty!
Peace and Love, Alease

HI Alease,
I'll join you, and follow you as well:
1. I won 2 superlatives in high school: Class Clown and Most Talkative. No one could be chosen for 2, so I had to choose....which upset me, but oh, well. I chose Class Clown. My mom asked me "why can't you get most likely to succeed or something honorable." Personally, I was very proud and honored!
2. I do not like animals. Any kind of animals. I have to mentally prepare when I take my kids to the zoo. They totally gross me out! I did have lots of animals as a child....dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, hamsters. My husband doesn't understand how I could change so dramatically in that area. Truth be told, I never really liked them as a child either. I was afraid of them...still am. I did have an old Boston Bulldog, Butch, that I adored. I fondly refer to him in front of my kids. I don't want them to know this about me!
3. I was named after a MoTown song by artist Eddie Holland. Song was "Jamie." Apparently, he sang a song called "Holly" and that is my sister's name:) I can sing the chorus and enjoy doing so around my kids!
4. I too am a natural introvert and that was reinforced recently when I once again took the personality assessment. My friends (friends I have made as an adult) think I am lying when I tell them that.....they only know the "PR" Jamie. It's exhausting to be both!!!
5. My favorite movie as a child was Viva Las Vegas, with Elvis, followed by Blue Hawaii, with Elvis. As an adult....depends on my mood. I really don't watch a lot of movies..except kids movies!
6. I think in geometric shapes. My home reflects that. I even painted a piece for my formal room with geometric shapes. I am now searching for a rug that does NOT reflect that, and I keep choosing the same one...geometrics. Most of my artwork (paint and metal) also reflect that. What does that mean???
7. I am not allergic to grapes and thank GOD for it:)!
8. I enjoy home mags too, more than fashion! Although I can't put down my INSTYLE! When I have a chance to read, I find myself picking up my Bible, which is a good thing!!
9. I too collect magnets from everywhere we (or friends and family) visit. They are all over my fridge.
10. I don't remember what I wore in 8th grade. We didn't have a lot of money, and I don't really recall being fashionable! I was very proud in my basketball uniform though!! Very, very proud of that!
11. Can say bad words in 10 languages. LOL! LMAO! Kidding. Not really.
12. In college, I interned/worked at the college radio stations doing on-air work. I wanted to be a broadcaster. I also worked a local radion stations in the marketing/promotions department. HMMMMMM...which one won out???:)
13. I had several majors BEFORE I declared....Spanish, Business, Interior Design, Broadcasting, then PR Communications. Master's in the same area (MARCOM/ADV) although my heart was telling me to do counseling. But I was afraid to branch out that far! No regrets though.
A. An interesting tidbit no one knows: I was such a talented pianist that I played at Duke University and UNC-G on the weekends. They were watching me for future opportunites. I didn't understand what I could do with a music degree (other than play piano for my church) so I dropped it COLD TURKEY! I took drum lessons as a grad student and failed miserably! A lot of people in my family are still hurt by that decision.
14. Wish I would've done something with theater. I had a chance to go to NYC for HS drama. I won a "camp." Only "geeks" were going, so I didn't go. HOW AWFUL WAS I!!!????? My heart wants to be a professional actress or musician.....Melissa Etheridge (writer, singer, musician) or Sheila E on the drums. But, my talent just wasn't there....I'd love to be famous for a day!
15. Clowns.....give me nightmares:)
16. I love ice cream! :)
OK...I did it! Now you know WAY more about me than almost anyone in the world! HAHAHA! Hope you don't mind me following your lead! That was fun!

Jamie,

Thanks, Alease! Presley runs around telling everyone 'I was named after Elvis Presley." I tell her "you may not want to share that!" HAHAHAH! She already loves his movies and his music. Syd too. Like Mother Like Daughters!
And, yes, lunch would be great. Syd is in Pre-School 1 full day a week and 2 half-days. I rotate my full day around my work schedule, so I could let you know a good day. Could meet you someone in your neck of the woods for an early lunch, if that would work.
Have a great week! Happy Monday!
Jamie
