Summer quarter has started and we are in our 4th week of instruction. For summer quarter I am teaching Fashion Coordination-a course I have taught many times at the Art Institute of Charlotte. But this quarter I wanted to introduce blogging into the classroom. Blogging allows for technology, meaningful learning and reflective writing into the curriculum. Blogging has helped me become more aware of my creative experience. I hope blogging will help my students expand on their creative expereicnes as while.
In the Fashion Coordination course students learn to explore the aesthetics of fashion and the response evoked by color theme, style and design. This course includes an overview of body shapes and silhouettes appropriate for various shapes. Students also learn the basics of copy writing as a vechicle for generating an aesthetic response in consumers. As a weekly assignment students in this course are expected to post a blog on thier personal expereinces with dress. These students are writing about some unique and interested expereinces about clothing, color, heros, and fashion personalilties. Take a few mintues and view some of these blogs-Fashion Coordination Blogs.
