Love Letter Collage Series

   

                  

1st of Love Letter collage series. The process of creating this 15x 20 started with layering red and brown tissue paper and with my personal journaling pages. The African American Male photo image is a photo copy of an original photo from my collection. A matte finish Decoupage adhesive was used to glue tissue paper, journaling pages, and photo to cold press illustration board.

It has been a really nice experience in working on this piece. I've forced myself to use new colors and techniques. Burning paper and applying tissue paper over images and then tracing them gave me an opportunity to incorporate texture into my work. The different shades of red with a brownish tone gives the piece a sweet romantic feel.

My First Solo

                          

This year I set a goal that I would focus on my artwork. And as of yesterday Mike Watson - AICH gallery curator sent me my first solo exhibition: December 6, 2006. Yes, I know it is really far away, but still it's exciting. I've participated in other shows, but this is my first solo show. I must say that God answers prays.
